How To Host A Pizza Party

May 25, by Shellie Wilson. Leave a Comment

Parties have changed over the past year and the need for something simple, or perhaps something special has become an important role in family life. Hosting your own parties has become more important as many of us are now having to provide entertainment for our children or family within our own home.

This party is all about Pizza, I hosted my first Pizza party around 10 years ago, I had pizza-themed decorations and a Pizza table cloth to add to my party decor. When you put pizza everywhere it turns it from a pizza night to a pizza party!

You can also print off these FREE pizza party Invites or purchase these printable ones off Etsy.

Even though we have provided you with simple Pizza making recipes, there is no shame in buying pizza too. Trust me when you have put all the effort into the decorations, people will overlook the fact you bought the pizza.

You can have a smashing party with this Pizza Pinata too and don’t forget to fill the pizza themed favor bags with Mini candy pizzas and pizza pencils. Don’t forget to serve up your pizza you will be needing a traditional Italian pizza guy costume too.

Pizza Dough Recipe

1 packet active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (should feel like the temperature of your bath)
1 tsp. salt
3 cups all-purpose flour, scooped and leveled
1 to 2 Tbsp. olive oil
Additional flour or cornmeal for rolling out dough
1-2 drop gel food coloring
Yields: Makes 4 – 12” pizza crusts -or- 8 – 6” individual pizza crusts.

Pizza Dough Recipe Instructions

In the bowl of an electric mixer, dissolve the yeast in the water and let stand for 5 minutes.

Add the salt, flour, and 1 tbsp olive oil.

Using a dough hook, mix until the dough forms a ball.

Turn the dough out onto a surface dusted with flour or cornmeal and knead until smooth. Pour the second tbsp of olive oil into a large bowl and place the dough there. Cover with a damp dishtowel (or plastic wrap) and let rise in a warm area for 1 hour. Punch down the dough and place on a surface dusted with flour or cornmeal. Knead for about 8 minutes.

Flatten the dough into a disc and divide it into equal portions with a knife or spatula.

Roll out each portion by gently stretching it with your hands and set on a cookie sheet

Making the Pizza

Tomato Sauce or Pizza Sauce
Mozzarella cheese
Toppings of your choice
Fresh or dried herbs of your choice

Pizza making instructions

Top the dough rounds with a tablespoon of tomato sauce.
Add grated/shredded mozzarella cheese.
Add toppings and herbs.
Place in a 450-degree oven for 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.

Tips for a successful pizza party

Make the dough at least a day before and set in the fridge. Bring to room temperature about 30-45 mins before using.

Have all topping ingredients chopped and divided into easy serve bowls.
Use a quick-cooking recipe like the one above.

Plan for a few different flavors. Purchase gluten-free dough for those with allergies and leave it separate from the rest to avoid cross-contamination.

Put a note on the stations with each pizza’s toppings (if ordering out).
Open your windows (or buy a fan) if you are making them in-house, the heat from the oven will raise the temperature of the home, thus raising the temperature of ingredients and could potentially melt your desserts.

Use plastic spoons for people to gather their toppings, you can also place the ingredients on paper plates or bowls at tables for a kids party.
Use two rimless sheet pans or pizza circles for ease when distributing the pizza.
Have fun and let everyone create the pizza of their dreams.
